The mission of the Green School Committee is to bring awareness of the benefits of green schools to Michigan, advocate the value of green building and renovation for all Michigan schools, and ensure green schools for all children within THIS generation
The Green School Committee of the US Green Building Council Detroit Region is entirely volunteer-led. If you are passionate about equitable access to sustainable, healthy schools and want to contribute to shaping our committee, please sign up to join our committee mailing list. A calendar of committee meetings can be found below.
The Green School Committee hosts several events to engage students, school staff and the broader community every year, including the My Green School Art Contest, Green Apple Day of Service and School District Leader Roundtables. Our events are made possible through the generous support of our sponsors. Find out more about becoming an event sponsor by clicking below.
Volunteers are needed regularly to support Green School Committee activities, especially Green Apple Day of Service projects at Detroit Area schools and the My Green School Art Contest award ceremony. Volunteer your time to be a part of making schools more green by clicking below.
